This is the Menu for Saturday 11 April
This menu is a collection of foods we have discovered on our travels and my attempt to re-create them at home to relive the flavours of the places we have been.
Sushi
While Japan is the home of sushi this dish evokes memories of our visit to Hong Kong, sitting drooling whilst watching the food go by on the conveyor belt.
Cockle fritters
A specialty of my native New Zealand. As children my sister and I would collect "Pipi's" (NZ version of cockles) on Takapuna beach and take them home for my mum to cook up pipi fritters. A real taste of my childhood in the land of the long white cloud- happy times.
Ceviche
This marinated fish recipe is one of the national dishes of Peru. Fish fresh of the boats and smothered in lime with a hint of chilli. We have enjoyed this dish along the coast from Trujillo in the north to Tacna in the South. Its popularity has resulted in it spreading far down the coast in to Chile and in Santiago fish market cafe we were offered Peruvian style and Chilean style.
Keralan Curried Bream
Kerala literally means the land of coconuts and this certainly true of its wonderful cooking. I was taught how to make the sauce for this dish at a cookery course at the top of the cliffs in the coastal town of Varkala.
Chorizo and white bean stew (smoked cod for non meat eaters)
Our travels takes me back to Spain time and again. The cities are chic and stylish while the countryside is rich and earthy and this is reflected in the country's food. This dish reminds me of time spent in the mountain villages of Asturias- hearty, rich and earthy flavours.
Homemade Real Fruit Ice Cream and shortbread biscuits
Again from my homeland New Zealand where every corner shop is called the "Dairy" and sells at least half a dozen flavours of "Tip Top" ice cream. This is made to my own recipe packed with real fruit.
A ticket for the supper club is £30 per person plus a small booking fee.
For this guests will receive a 6 course meal.
Drinks are not included in the price - please bring your own drinks.
